Most Sandbridge Bay/Canal homes are located on canals that lead out to Back Bay. Many homes offer boat docks that are ideal for fishing and crabbing.

Fishing on the Beach
You are welcome to fish along the beach at Sandbridge. Please be observant of swimmers and use caution.
Fishing permits are required for surf fishing as well.
Online Fishing Permits
Fishing permits are required by law for all fishing in Sandbridge. Fishing permits can be obtained quickly and easily online at: www.dgif.virginia.gov
Permits are also available at the local Walmart located at Red Mill Commons Shopping Center just a few minutes away.
Fishing Piers

Hours of Operation:
6AM – Midnight (Seasonal and Weather Permitting)
Fishing & Crabbing:
Adults – $12
Children under 12 – $6
Spectators – $3
Quick Rules:
2 Fishing Rods or Crab Nets Per Fisherman.
Pier Tackle Shop – Bait, Ice, Tackle.
Rod Rentals – $10 per Rod (Deposit Required).

Sandbridge Little Island Fishing Pier
Hours of Operation:
April 15 - October 31: 5:30 a.m. - 9:00 p.m.
November 1 - April 14: 7:00 a.m. - Posted Closing Time*
Fishing Pier Fees:
Sightseeing: $1 resident / $2 non-resident.
Fishing: $8 resident / $10 non-resident.
Weekly pier fishing pass: $25 resident / $35 non-resident.
Annual pier fishing pass: $100
*Children 9 and under are free with a paying adult (for fishing).
