Pet of the Month: March

Pet of the Month

This month, we’ve decided to introduce you to a four-legged fan of Sandbridge who spends his time strolling the beach. Remember: if you have a beach-loving pet, please share your pictures with us and tell us about your furry pal’s love for Sandbridge. They may be featured in a future Pet of the Month post!

Meet Prince J: March’s Pet of the Month!

Prince J is a Jack Russell terrier from right here in Virginia Beach. He is a little over 16 years old! Prince J loves Sandbridge naps and hanging out on the screened porch during his downtime. He also enjoys hanging out with his buddies Stella, Duncan, and Lily!

Prince J’s favorite beach activity is hunting for crabs in the sand…living up to the Jack Russell name! But when he takes a break from searching for crabs, peaceful sunrise walks with the family are some of the best Sandbridge memories for Prince J.

Siebert Realty offers numerous pet-friendly rentals for those wishing to make beach memories with their furry pals. Visit the link below to find your next dream vacation home now!

The Sand Palette

Don’t you wish you could just pack up one of our vibrant Sandbridge sunsets and take it home with you at the end of your vacation? Now you can!

The Sand Palette is a Sandbridge-exclusive experience that helps you capture the natural beauty of our beloved beach town by bringing the art studio right to you. While photographs of sunsets and dolphins playing in the wave are great, there is something amazing and incomparable about freezing a moment through art.

Each session is led by a local artist. There is no experience necessary! Painters of all skill levels are invited to join in on the fun—all you need is a good attitude and a desire to create art while having fun with your friends and family. The Sand Palette artist will come to your rental property with all the necessary art supplies and provide instructions on the chosen design. No need to stick straight to the script though—all painters are encouraged to follow their own art spark and take as many creative liberties as their hearts desire!

All of the painting designs are based on some of your favorite and iconic Sandbridge spots. From the beach to the bay, The Sand Palette is here to preserve your vacation memories in an incredibly special way. If guests have an idea for a custom design, the possibility of adding it to the list of chosen artworks can be discussed through email.

To book a session, contact The Sand Palette through email (thesandpalette@gmail.com) with your availability. For summer visitors—those arriving in May and beyond—booking will open in April. The pricing of a session depends on the party size, and the price includes all art supplies and instruction:

Less than 5 people: $25 per person

5 to 10 people: $22 per person

11 to 20 people: $20 per person

Food and drink are not provided during the session, but The Sand Palette highly suggests all prospective artists grab their favorite drinks and snacks for the event. What’s a painting party without some good food and a cocktail or two?

Now is your chance to hang on to your Sandbridge vacation forever—book a session with The Sand Palette and create beautiful art and unforgettable memories with the entire family!

RESCUE Exhibit

The Virginia Aquarium & Marine Science Center

Do you have what it takes to be a hero? The Virginia Aquarium & Marine Science Center’s latest exhibition, RESCUE, allows guests to experience and react to high-pressure, rescue-based scenarios in land, sea, and air rescues. The new exhibit is part of the Aquarium’s changing exhibits gallery which showcases new exhibitions seasonally. RESCUE is included in general admission to the Virginia Aquarium and will be on display from September 19, 2022 to January 10, 2023.

Created by the renowned Scitech in Perth, Australia and produced by Imagine Exhibitions, guests can learn how rescue technology works and the skills and experience needed to be a rescuer. Take control of a full-size helicopter simulator to get a bird’s eye view of a rescue scene and use infrared cameras to look for heat signals. Navigate a jet ski around obstacles while searching for a swimmer washed out to sea, experience what it is like to traverse through a smoke-filled room and use the correct fire extinguisher to put out different fires. Interactive exhibits will also educate guests about medicine, search techniques, radio communication, rescue supplies and equipment such as the Jaws of Life.

Tom Zaller, CEO of Imagine Exhibitions shared, “Imagine Exhibitions is proud to partner with Scitech to bring RESCUE to the Virginia Aquarium. Who didn’t dream of becoming a police officer or firefighter as a child? At RESCUE, now the whole family can learn more about what it takes to be a first responder, and maybe visitors of all ages will be inspired to make that childhood dream a reality!”

RESCUE will be open daily to the public from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. until January 10, 2023. General admission tickets are available to purchase on the Virginia Aquarium’s website.  Click the link below to see an awesome Instagram tour of the exhibit!

Pet of the Month: October

Pet of the Month

Hello fall! It’s hard to believe it’s already time for us to introduce October’s Pet of the Month: Hero! Remember–if you have a beach-loving pet, please share your pictures with us tell us why your furry friend loves Sandbridge and they may be featured in a Pet of the Month post.

Hero is 6 years old and has been coming to Sandbridge since he was 2 years old. He loves climbing the small dune by the house, watching the dolphins when they are close to shore, supervising “his people” in the pool from the shade deck, and enjoying the ocean breezes lying on the screened porch.

Hero’s Mom, Dr. Robin from Maryland, with her family and friends have been vacationing in Sandbridge and staying with Siebert Realty for over 20 years.

Robin sent us this photo of she and Hero on the beach with a note, “Last year, a beautiful sunset, Hero and me.  Memories like this kept me going while treating patients through COVID-19.  Couldn’t wait to put my toes in your sand, been a very hard year!”

Hero first came to Sandbridge with his Dad, Titan, and now brings his girlfriend Hops for a Sandbridge Dream Vacation.

Siebert Realty offers numerous pet-friendly rentals for those wishing to make beach memories with their furry pals. Visit the link below to find your next dream vacation home now!
