Discover the Magic of Sandbridge Market’s Incredible Donuts!

At Siebert Realty, we pride ourselves on highlighting the best of Sandbridge, and this time, we’re thrilled to shine a spotlight on a local gem that has become a beloved tradition for both vacationers and locals alike: the Sandbridge Market and their incredible donuts.

The Magic Begins at Night

While the Sandbridge Market welcomes customers from 5:30 AM to 9 PM during the summer, the real magic happens after they close their doors. As the sun sets and darkness envelops Sandbridge, head baker Keith steps into the kitchen and begins his nightly ritual. Working tirelessly through the night, Keith crafts up to 3,300 mouthwatering donuts, ensuring that every batch is perfect. In the early hours of the morning, his dedicated helpers arrive to add the final touches, preparing the donuts to be put out for eager customers right at 5:30 AM.

An Early Bird’s Delight

It’s no wonder why vacationers and locals alike flock to the Sandbridge Market at the crack of dawn. The donuts are so good and flavorful that they often sell out by 10:30 AM, so it’s best to arrive early to ensure you don’t miss out on the day’s fresh batch. This cherished tradition sees a line of people out the door each morning, eagerly waiting to get their hands on these delicious treats.

A Donut for Every Craving

The Sandbridge Market offers a variety of donuts that cater to every taste. While every donut is a delight, we highly recommend trying their famous Double Twist. It’s a crowd favorite for a reason! Other popular options include classic glazed, chocolate glazed, sprinkled, and crème-filled donuts. With such a diverse selection, there’s something to satisfy every sweet tooth.

More Than Just Donuts

Beyond their legendary donuts, the Sandbridge Market also offers a tempting array of other baked goods. From cinnamon rolls to muffins and croissants, there’s no shortage of delectable options to start your day off right.

Celebrity Endorsements

Sandbridge is not just a favorite among regular visitors; occasionally, celebrities vacation here too. Notable names like Ben Roethlisberger, Tim Allen, and Snoop Dogg have all bought donuts at Sandbridge Market, adding a touch of star power to this beloved bakery operation.

A Must-Visit Staple of Sandbridge

Whether you’re a vacationer creating new traditions or a local making a special trip from a surrounding city, a visit to the Sandbridge Market for their donuts is a must. The dedication and passion that Keith and his team put into every batch is evident in every bite, making these donuts a true staple of the Sandbridge experience.

Jack Siebert: Anchored in History

After a career as a longshoreman for 26 years, Jack Siebert became a real estate broker in 1963. He co-founded Warren, Siebert, Page Realty in Norfolk in 1964. As mentioned in “Siebert Realty: Anchored in History”, Jack decided to establish a branch office of Warren, Siebert, Page at Sandbridge Beach in 1973 to be more accessible to the homes and guests in the area.

Throughout his real estate career, he received awards that include twice being voted “Realtor of the Year” by the local Board of Realtors. He served as president of the Norfolk Board of Realtors, president of the Virginia Association of Realtors, and was vice president within the National Association of Realtors.

Although Jack was overwhelmingly successful in real estate within the Sandbridge area, he also loved to make memories with his friends and family. Jack had a winning personality that was cherished by all those who were around him. His favorite pastimes included hosting parties with his wife, Jean, spending time with their family, cooking incredible meals, and cheering on the ODU Monarchs Men’s Basketball Team. Jack was a man of his community and was always looking for opportunities to be involved in any way that he could. Jack was pleased to be the Past Grand Master (1961) of the Corinthian Lodge No. 266, Norfolk, as well as a member of the Scottish Rite and a Shriner. Additionally, Jack was a loyal member of the Norfolk Host Lions Club and the Virginia Beach Auxiliary Police. Jack was honored to serve twice as president of the American Cancer Society and was proud of his involvement with the Old Dominion University Intercollegiate Foundation Board. He received an honorary degree from Old Dominion in 2001.

Jack passed away when I was a child, but I see his legacy live on through the love and relentless hard work of Team Siebert. One memory that is frequently shared in our office is the way that Jack would greet his team as he walked in the doors. The minute he stepped through the threshold he would open his arms wide and exclaim, “My People!” with unmatched joy. Even though Jack became less involved in the operations of Siebert Realty as time went on, he still very much considered every member of Team Siebert as part of his family and was immensely proud of the work that they continuously do for our owners and guests.  He was a great husband, father, friend, and Realtor. He enriched the lives of those he touched, and he will long be remembered in our hearts and in Sandbridge.

Many days I find myself wishing that Jack, or as I call him, Pop Pop, was able to see the way that Siebert Realty has grown in size, but kept the intentionality that makes it so special in Sandbridge. I believe that he would be proud of the work that “his people” have done in the years since his passing. We strive to provide guests with great memories, owners with excellence, team members with camaraderie, and doing it all with integrity and great fun – just as he always wanted it to be.

Siebert Realty: Anchored in History

Following the Ash Wednesday Storm of 1962, which damaged many structures located along the coast of Virginia, many owners in the Sandbridge Beach area realized that there was a need for someone to check on their family vacation homes when they were unable to make the journey themselves. That’s where the story of incredible, local property managers begins in Sandbridge.

My grandfather, Jack W. Siebert, became a Real Estate Broker in the Commonwealth of Virginia in 1963 and co-founded Warren, Siebert, Page Realty in Norfolk, VA not long after in 1964. Although Warren, Siebert, Page was not the very first nor the only property manager in the Sandbridge area, they still wanted to make owning property on that small stretch of beach a breeze when owners were away!

In 1973, Jack decided to establish a branch office at Sandbridge Beach to be more accessible in the area. The business operated as Warren, Siebert, Page until Jack along with his wife and business partner, Jean, rebranded the business as Siebert Realty in 1980. Embracing the unique friendliness of Sandbridge, Jack and Jean wove this culture into a business that created the mission of providing guests with great memories, owners with excellence, team members with camaraderie, and doing it all with integrity and great fun!

Since 1980, Siebert Realty has been one of the leading property managers in Virginia Beach. Jack and Jean’s ability to look ahead to the future and consider what is best for our owners, guests, and community members has set us apart from the competition. Each member of Team Siebert understands the core values that Siebert Realty has and brings individualized expertise to provide superior service. As a property manager, we realize that properties are valuable investments as well as precious pieces of family history and we are proud to offer exceptional management services that reflect that respect and understanding.

Although my father, Patrick Keenan, worked at Siebert Realty for many years while growing up in Sandbridge, he began working alongside his mother, Jean, in 2003. Since 2003, he moved naturally from the role of Maintenance Supervisor, to General Manager, and finally took over as Owner and President of Siebert Realty in 2019 after the passing of Jean that April. Patrick continues to uphold the values and mission on which Jean and Jack based their business and has grown it to what it is today! Patrick’s sister, Joanne Keenan Young, and I both work as part of Team Siebert and are unendingly proud of the environment that Jack, Jean, and Patrick have cultivated over the past 60 years.

Being a locally owned, multi-generational, family business has given us the opportunity to serve owners and guests like no one else in the Sandbridge area. Siebert Realty is personal and intentional with our owners and their homes’ history. We provide the expertise and knowledge of the unique market that Sandbridge provides in the vacation industry, and we are proud of our legacy in southern Virginia Beach. We are grateful for the opportunities that Sandbridge has provided to us, and we will aim to continue to do right by our owners, guests, and community in the years to come.

A Sandbridge Family Tradition

We have many families who have turned an initial Sandbridge visit into an annual tradition. The surf, sun, and sheer beauty of the area is the perfect place to gather with loved ones and spend quality time together.

Olivia Benson’s family began their Sandbridge tradition when she was less than a year old. Year after year the family returned to our little slice of paradise to make priceless memories. One of Olivia’s favorite Sandbridge memories is from 2018. On the very same beach she grew up visiting, her (now) husband proposed! Her family was staying in Silver Sands and her cousins were staying nearby in another rental property; “We were able to come share the news with all of my cousins and aunts and uncles which was SO special! The year after, we rode on bikes down to the exact place we got engaged!”

The Benson family has since added a new beach buddy—Olivia and her husband now get to share the magic of Sandbridge with their son! We are ecstatic Olivia is able to add another generation to such an awesome family tradition.

Sandbridge is an incredible place, and we are very thankful we can be a part of your family traditions. We love seeing photos of families and friends creating memories at the beach! Feel free to share your favorite Sandbridge stories with us.
