Outer Banks Boil Company: A Delicious Tradition with Heart

Outer Banks Boil Company began as a simple idea by Matt Khouri, a University of North Carolina-Wilmington senior, who dreamed of sharing the joy of a family beach tradition. Inspired by legendary beach parties featuring steaming pots of potatoes, fresh corn, andouille sausage, and shrimp, Matt envisioned creating a business that would bring this delicious experience to others.

Despite earning only a “C” for his senior project, Matt didn’t let the grade define his passion. After graduation, he moved to Corolla in the Outer Banks and started offering seafood boils for vacationing families. The first year saw just 10 events, but as word spread, that number grew exponentially. By 2016, Matt’s dream had outgrown his apartment kitchen, leading to the opening of Outer Banks Boil Company’s first location.

What began as a small operation now boasts 11 locations from New Jersey to Florida, offering both catered seafood boils and “The Best Pot on the Beach” for takeout. With a top-tier reputation, including being ranked the #1 restaurant in the Outer Banks on TripAdvisor, Outer Banks Boil Company continues to expand its reach while maintaining a focus on quality, community, and tradition.

Giving Back: Virginia Beach Wins Big for Sandbridge

This holiday season, the Virginia Beach location of Outer Banks Boil Company participated in the company’s Gingerbread Contest, competing with other stores to create the most impressive gingerbread display. Not only did the Virginia Beach team win the contest, but they also chose to donate their $500 prize to the Sandbridge Volunteer Rescue Squad.
